Welcome to Asana Rebel! In the following, we have some workout recommendations, beginner options and tips for you!
Scroll all the way down to the "Intensity" filter and check out the "Low Intensity" to have a great start!
Goals
Weight loss
If your main focus is weight loss, our yoga inspired fitness workouts can be a gentle and effective way of helping you along. Even if it’s about burning fat and calories, don’t rush yourself! Exercise at your own pace and listen to your body as it adapts over time. If you push yourself too hard in the beginning, it may lead to disappointment if you aren’t able to maintain the same momentum.
Workout recommendation: Energy Booster, Break a Sweat, Leg Burn, Shred-It.
Rebel tips: Don’t hesitate to take water breaks and breathers in between exercises - simply hit the Pause button. If you cannot jump due to an injury, just walk on the spot. You can also do any cardio related asanas half the speed in the beginning if the rhythm is too quick.
Strength
If building strength is a goal of yours, we have just the workouts for you! They will improve your posture and make it easier to burn calories in the long run. It is also important when following these workouts to take your time and vary the sessions.
Workout recommendations: Whole Body Strength, Powerhouse Builder, Total Body Toner.
Rebel Tips: Typical strength related asanas you’ll find in the workouts are planks, side planks, core boat, lunges and warriors. While in plank position, you can always lower your knees down to the mat. For warriors and lunges, don’t go too deep in the beginning, simply stop at the point that is most comfortable for you. As your strength increases, you will progressively be able to go lower. In asanas like core boat, keep your knees bent.
Flexibility
If you wish to improve your flexibility with yoga, you’ve come to the right place. We are sure you’d love to be as flexible as the instructors in the videos right away, but flexibility takes time, longer than it does to build strength for example. Pushing yourself too hard might cause injuries (cracking of muscle fibers) so ease into it.
Workout recommendations: Essential Flow, Warrior Flow, Rise and Shine.
Rebel Tips: For all flexibility related asanas, pay attention to your breath. Feel the tension as you inhale and relax as you exhale. Feel free to adapt the workouts by bending your knees in any forward fold, standing hip-width apart, lowering down one knee in deep lunges, going only halfway in backbends. Stop at the point it feels uncomfortable for you.
Understand Yoga
We are so happy you choose yoga to be part of your lifestyle. By highlighting the connecting between movements and breathing, this form of exercising stands out from others and offers a deeper value to your workout. To really understand yoga, let your body experience the benefits of each asana by listening closely to the instructor's voice. Enjoy every moment and remember, good things take time! Sooner than later, you will feel results. Namaste!
